Chapter 73 Two - Stroke Apparent Motion
نویسنده
چکیده
The Effect One hundred years ago, the Gestalt psychologist Max Wertheimer published the first detailed study of the apparent visual movement seen when two adjacent lights are flashed sequentially (see Kolers, 1972). Apparent movement can be created by presenting any two identical pictures successively, with the second shifted slightly in position relative to the first. Figure 73-1a shows a very simple example: a bright bar on a dark background is plotted in cross-section, displacing to the right from frame 1 (F1) to frame 2 (F2; solid arrow). The displacement evokes a perception of apparent motion to the right (dashed arrow). Stopframe animation is based on this well-established technique.

Psychophysical properties of two-stroke apparent motion.
In two-stroke apparent movement, repeated presentation of a two-frame pattern displacement followed by a brief inter-stimulus interval (ISI) can create an impression of continuous forward motion (G. Mather, 2006). Does the ISI in two-stroke motion just break the connection between adjacent frames, switching off the motion signal they normally generate, or does it actually generate a reversed mo...
متن کاملA motion-energy model predicts the direction discrimination and MAE duration of two-stroke apparent motion at high and low retinal illuminance
Two-stroke apparent motion offers a challenge to current theoretical models of motion processing and is thus a useful tool for investigating motion sensor input. The stimulus involves repeated presentation of two pattern frames containing a spatial displacement, with a blank inter-stimulus interval (ISI) at one of the two-frame transitions. The resulting impression of continuous motion was meas...
متن کاملReduction of Flicker in Four-Stroke Motion of Color Images
When two sequential video frames extracted from a single video clip are followed by the negative of the two frames, a viewer often experiences a visual illusion whereby a scene in the frames continuously moves in a single direction (four-stroke apparent motion). To create a four-stroke apparent motion display, the image intensities of the whole of the second pair of images are reversed. However...
متن کاملBotulinum Toxin Injections or Application of Splints: Impact on Spasticity, Range of Motion and Function of Upper Extremity in Chronic Stroke Patients
Spasticity or increase in muscle tone is one of the problems following stroke. Due to this increase in muscle tone, patients are confronted to problems in motor control and difficulties in activities of daily living and complications such as shortness and contracture. The aim of this study is to compare the effects of using splint or botulinum toxin injection on spasticity, range of motion and ...

The purpose of this research is to survey the relationship between range of the ankle motion and Q angle and back stroke kicking on male swimmers. 34 on available boy students swimmers were selected with mean and SD of age 23.68±2.28 years, weight 71.88±9.35 kg and height 176.11±5.52 cm in this study. First, Right and Left Leg Q angles (to supine position), Range of Dorsal flexion and plan...
